Overview
Cultura Cura: Healing Through Heritage LMSA NC2026
The 21st Annual LMSA National Conference theme, โCultura Cura: Healing Through Heritage,โ celebrates the power of our shared cultural roots as a source of strength, healing, and inspiration in medicine. Our traditions, languages, and lived experiences are not just part of who we areโthey are integral to how we care for others. This conference honors the generations who have carried our communities forward and empowers the next wave of Latino physicians and health leaders to bridge culture and clinical excellence.
As we reflect on our past and chart the future of healthcare, we recognize that culture itself can be medicineโa reminder that representation, compassion, and community-centered care are vital to healing.
Our goals are as follows:
- Empower Through Heritage: Celebrate and explore the influence of culture, language, and identity in the practice of medicine to foster compassionate, culturally grounded care.
- Expand Mentorship Networks: Build pathways of guidance and opportunity between premedical, medical, and resident physicians to strengthen the Latino healthcare pipeline.
- Champion Community Advocacy: Equip attendees with the skills and tools to address systemic inequities and lead meaningful change in their local and national communities.
Conference topics include:
- Hands-On Skills Sessions
- Cultural Humility and Healing Practices in Latinx Communities
- Addressing Health Inequities Across Borders
- Mentorship and Representation in Medicine
- Medical Spanish for Clinical Care
- Leadership and Advocacy for Health Equity
- Specialty Exploration Panels and Workshops
- Application Strategies for Medical School and Residency

Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship opportunities
LMSA is proud to offer multiple opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors to engage with attendees at the National Conference. We encourage institutions and organizations to explore the many benefits included in our sponsorship packages, which are outlined in detail in the NC2026 Sponsor & Exhibitor Prospectus. You may also review the Exhibitor Fair FAQ section below or contact nc2026@lmsa.net for additional information.
Each year, LMSA hosts an Exhibitor Fair as part of its National Conference to connect members with opportunities for career advancement, professional development, and meaningful engagement with institutions and organizations across the country.
The Exhibitor Fair is central to LMSAโs mission of empowering medical trainees, especially those from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine, to become the physicians our communities need. It also provides an ideal forum for medical schools, residency programs, healthcare organizations, and other partners to connect with trainees who are passionate about health equity and service. For institutions seeking to recruit and support a diverse, talented, and mission-driven generation of future physicians, participation in the fair is especially valuable.

Service Event
Support the NC2026 Service Project: Hygiene & Worker Kits for FIEL Houston
As part of the 2026 LMSA National Conference, LMSA is proud to partner with FIEL Houston for this yearโs service event to support immigrant families and community members in need.
FIEL, which stands for Familias Inmigrantes y En La Lucha, is a Houston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering immigrant families through education, advocacy, legal services, and community organizing. Through their legal clinic, Know Your Rights education, citizenship classes, youth and education programs, and rapid response efforts, FIEL works alongside immigrant communities to defend their rights, provide access to critical resources, and create pathways for families to thrive.
This year, our goal is to assemble and donate 100 hygiene and worker support kits for FIEL and the Houston community. Your donation will go directly toward purchasing essential items such as:
Reusable drawstring bags, lip balm, travel-size sunscreen, travel-size deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, disposable razors, body wipes, menstrual pads, acetaminophen packets, lidocaine patches, triple antibiotic ointment packets, instant cold packs, hair combs, and flashlight keychains.
By adding a donation to your NC2026 registration, you are helping LMSA provide practical, dignity-centered resources to families and workers in the Houston community.
Thank you for helping us live out this yearโs theme, Cultura Cura: Healing Through Heritage, through service, solidarity, and community care.
