About LMSA Plus

Welcome to LMSA PLUS!

We’re so excited to welcome all of our LMSA pre-health students to the Latina/o/x Undergraduate Society (PLUS) family!

Founded in 2012, LMSA PLUS was created to strengthen mentorship and support for students at the earliest stages of their journey in the health professions. The PLUS framework builds a strong foundation for future physicians and healthcare leaders through three key components:

  1. Chapter Development: A pathway to establishing formal LMSA PLUS chapters at two- and four-year colleges and universities across the U.S.
  2. Dedicated Programming: National and regional initiatives designed specifically for pre-health students, including those pursuing medicine (DO or MD) and other healthcare fields.
  3. Community & Networking: A platform to connect with fellow pre-health peers, medical students, and mentors through the broader LMSA familia.

Forming a PLUS chapter at your institution is one of the best ways to get connected to the LMSA National and Regional networks. PLUS chapters have an equal voice alongside medical school chapters in shaping the future of LMSA leadership, programming, and advocacy efforts. The strength and spirit of LMSA come from its chapters — and we’re proud to ensure that undergraduate students are a key part of that voice.

We also encourage LMSA PLUS chapters to partner closely with LMSA medical school chapters on joint programming, mentorship initiatives, and community outreach. These collaborations create invaluable bridges between undergraduate and medical students.
