Visiting Student Diversity Program through the University of Missouri – Columbia, School of Medicine

The University of Missouri – Columbia, School of Medicine is excited to announce that our Visiting Student Diversity Program is now accepting applications for rotations beginning August 1st, 2021! See the attached document for more information!

Visiting Student Diversity Program provides opportunities for 4th year medical students to do an elective rotation with the University of Missouri School of Medicine and MU Health Care. Selected students will participate in the clinical activities of the chosen department including conferences and other educational activities. Students will receive up to $950 for housing during their elective that may be accompanied by a stipend provided by the individual department to which the student is assigned.* Electives are available from July through February.

Eligibility

Students must be enrolled as a fourth-year student in an LCME-accredited institution at the time of the elective. Students who are members of groups underrepresented in medicine are encouraged to apply.

Application Process

Apply through VSAS for an away rotation AND submit the supplemental application for the Visiting Student Diversity Program.

  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • General Surgery
  • Neurology
  • Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Pathology
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Psychiatry
  • Radiology
